Hyatt at Olive 8 Hotel… Green is the new fancy for Seattle’s newest downtown hotel.

If green is the new fancy at hotels, then the Hyatt at Olive 8 is Seattle’s latest celebrity in short term dwellings.    The hotel, newest to the downtown scene, is only a block away from it’s big brother Grand Hyatt Seattle, but has a comfy boutique feel to it and comes with LEED certification that you’ll hopefully start seeing more and more on the road.

Stay in a south facing room to get a glimpse below of the “living roof”, a grassy covering spread across the first three floors of the hotel. Do NOT stay in one of the west facing rooms that face the building next door.

The Hyatt at Olive 8 is modern, sleek, and blue…. yep, there’s a mesmerizing blue glow that follows the building’s street view from the entrance belonging to the private condos all the way around to the hotel’s entrance. Inside, you’ll find a great affordable coffee shop, Urbane Coffee & Wine Bar, as well as a swanky looking bar & restaurant that goes by the same name, Urbane.

This is not your budget hotel, but like many hotels these days, there are some great deals to be had.     Did I mention the saltwater pool???
